An authentic and rare piece made by American company Smilow-Thielle in the post WWII era. This chair has all original components and upholstery. The company closed in 1970 and the furniture was no longer produced. “Furniture by Smilow-Thielle was widely regarded in the decades following World War II as among the better examples of contemporary American design and workmanship. Mel Smilow, who founded the firm and was its chief designer, is also a painter, sculptor and graphic artist (The New York Times).” Pick-up is available in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY.
