“Greenhorn”, the cd from Brooklyn roots/rock songwriter Ken Beasley is now available for sale on Krrb.com. http://www.myspace.com/kenbeasleymusic
Not quite country. Not quite jazz. Somehow, Texas native Ken Beasley taps into Flamenco, Motown, Country, Classical, Disco, Blues, and Folk to create an adventurous sound all his own.
Borrowing from his years as a flamenco guitarist, Beasley presents his rootsy compositions on a nylon-string guitar in unique finger-style rhythms. The forms blend seamlessly to produce a mood that smoothly balances cozy and familiar with exciting and fresh.
“…an accomplished flamenco guitarist, (Beasley) foregrounds his considerable ax skills more than most singer-songwriters, but his newly released GREENHORN disc focuses on his smoky voice and the unhurried pacing of his roots-pop tunes.” – TIME OUT NY
