In the interest in keeping beautifully designed furniture out of landfills, I’m looking for a buyer for our ByBo Changing Station and DiaperHolder. Its a FoldAway baby changing station, made of bent-ply, made in Belgium. The guy who designed it, Bo Ekstrom, is a sixth generation Architect as well as a father of four children. I only have one child and I’m only a second generation architect, but in my mind, this thing is very beautiful and useful!

We paid $930 for both parts after shipping, and I’d ba happy to sell it for $180.oo

“Bo Ekstrom, the designer of the line of well crafted bent wood changing tables and stations knows what it takes to create good looking, space saving designs. Descended from six generations of architects, and engineer by trade…one can’t bypass the detail that he was a nuclear waste engineer…and father of four, he understands the business of changing a diaper.

He operates a one-man wood shop and continually perfects the safety, structural integrity and function of his designs. Once perfected and certified through a rigorous inspection process by the independent Technical Research Institute of Sweden, the designs are produced in a small factory in Belgium using local FSC certified woods. Bo reports that he has tested the strength of the wall-mounted table to 110 lbs capacity, however it is certified for a baby up to 33 lbs."

I wish I had an image of how we had it mounted on the wall: We took it down a year ago, when my son stopped needing diapers. It was wonderful to have something that would fit in the bathroom. Because it folded away, we had space for this. I liked not haveing the changing station in the baby’s room since I preferred the idea of changing my son in the bathroom. Only something that is wall mounted would fit in our bathroom. It just seemed cleaner, and I liked having access to water.

Even if you prefer to have the changing area in the baby’s room, this thing is fantastic since it folds up and clears a bit of space that is often so needed here in apartments. Also, I thought it looked quite beautiful in an abstract way all folded up.

Its in very good condition. Although, it seems weird to be selling a changing station- it is very clean. It hasn’t been used in a year and was laundered before we put it awayThe birch surface is durable, and cleaned, and just seems silly to send this beautiful piece to a landfill.
