THE STUDIO
We’ve refurbished our downstairs unit into a comfortable studio guest house with its own private entrance. The studio is furnished with a a queen bed, new blankets and sheets, and a couch that converts to a queen bed. There is a fully functioning kitchen with full fridge/freezer, gas stove, a full set of dishes, pots, pans, flatware and butcher block kitchen table. You get your own bathroom with stall shower and brand new oversized bath sheets.
PATIO
Our communal outdoor patio has electricity, so it’s a great place to plug in your computer and enjoy the flowers and fruit trees. Surrounded by christmas lights, there are potted plants, tables, chairs and a gas start charcoal barbecue. It’s charming in the morning for breakfast and even nicer at magic hour. I like to garden, so you never know what might be in bloom – English roses, 8 feet high tomato plants, geraniums, and fresh thyme.
EXTRAS
I stock the kitchen with self serve coffee, tea, milk or soy, a Britta filter, granola, oatmeal, and hot cocoa. Wifi included, just ask for the password.
LAUNDRY
Enjoy complementary use of our large load washer/dryer with a steam setting. There is detergent for your use as well.
KIDS
Our daughter loves babies, and so do we! We have a pack ‘n’ play, high chair, carriage, and baby seat. Electrical plugs available to protect little kids – just ask.
TRAILER
Check out our other Air BnB listing, located on the other side of the property, separated by the main house. Both spaces have their own entrances.
MORE ABOUT THE LOCATION
We’re close enough to the galleries, shopping and night life of downtown to avoid traffic, but still have a nice view of Angelus Crest Mountains in Eagle Rock and Pasadena. We’re close to the amazing Huntington Gardens, Library and Galleries in San Marino. 20 minutes drive to Hollywood, 30 minutes drive to LAX and Santa Monica. Close to funky cafe’s, shops, and bars on York blvd. in Highland Park – LA’s hipster barrio. Nearby 10, 110, 101, and 710 freeways are convenient to get most anywhere.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
We’re walking distance to a bus stop, although I’d recommend a car – it’s L.A., baby! L.A. is vast, and without a car, you could spend more time on buses and trains than enjoying our awesome city.
BIKES
We have a men’s bike and a woman’s beach cruiser, and girl’s bike with training wheels which you are welcome to use. We are happy for you to enjoy them, gratis, but request a $100.00 additional deposit per bike, which we’re happy to return to you at the end of your stay.
PARKING
It’s pretty easy to park on our street. However, if our private parking spot is available, you may rent it for an additional $15.00 per night.
ABOUT US
We are a family of 3 plus an indoor cat. I’m a film maker and college professor and my husband is a fine art fabricator. We have a mellow kindergartner who loves to dance and make art. We’re private and mainly keep to ourselves, but are happy to share tips for navigating Los Angeles and where to find the best homestyle Mexican food. I’m very easy to get a hold of via text or email.
TAX
L.A. County charges a 14% hotel transient tax. Paying it upon arrival appreciated.
