This dresser, came from an artists home for his tools..originally, it came from the Perkins Institute for the Criminally Insane in Maryland.
Dresser upcycled by sanding down the original pastel paint, priming, and distressing in a flat black, and finishing the drawers in multi-toned silver. For a finishing touch, I added a touch of Baltimore kitch with a black/silver leopard print drawer liner.
As shown in the photos, the dresser is structurally in good, vintage condition. The paint is purposely distressed, and the new drawer liners have small imperfections because this was the hardest part for me to do…
I think it has a nice Restoration Hardware/Pottery Barn/Anthropologie vibe with an industrial unique touch. And, somebody just told me it is very likely a Norman Bel Geddes Dresser: http://www.1stdibs.com/furniture_item_detail.php?id=687812
