This is my baby. Well, I just had a REAL baby, so that’s why this baby has to go. It’s a very sad day for me, because being the car-geek I am, I love this car and the last thing I want to do is sell it, but hey, whaddya do?

This is a 1995 Subaru Legacy GX saloon. It’s in beautiful shape. If you’re about to send me a message asking “are you SURE it’s a non-turbo model?”, then YES, I’m sure. When I bought her she was a bone-stock GX model – which is to say, not quite as fancy as she is now. But being the purist I am, all the upgrades I’ve done for her are factory-spec – none of this blue lights and big spoiler nonsense. All upgrades and equipment choices have been done under the supervision of the excellent mechanics at uklegacy.com

4 months TAX, 10 months MOT, fully valeted before sale

HOW IT RUNS:
-————————————————————————
This Leggy is a joy to drive. It corners beautifully. The WRX rear shocks really make it feel quite sporty, especially when paired with the incredible Vredestein tyres in new condition. Even though it’s not a turbo model, it definitely has some get-up-and-go to it, and the ‘power’ button makes it even more fun. It starts every time, even during winter. Everything works as it should. The automatic transmission is flawless, the diff-lock works perfectly. The car really has some grunt to it, while not having all the problems of the turbo models. The HID lights are amazing at night, and all interior electrics/mechanics work perfectly.

THINGS I NEVER GOT AROUND TO:
-————————————————————————
- I have a remote locking kit which has never been fitted, will be included
- front GTB fog lights have never been wired in
- extra set of factory Subaru fogs, wiring and switch already exists but not mounted. Included
- a set of used Whiteline aluminium droplinks, included
- a set of used front WRX shocks, included (they are a straight swap, nice upgrade)
- a nice set of additional used locking wheel nuts included, never swapped
- the iPhone dock could use finishing – sanding and painting black would make it perfect

THINGS THAT COULD BE BETTER:
-————————————————————————
- there are a few minor dings that could easily be taken out, visible in photos
- rear bumper corner was scraped. No structural damage, but needs sanding and repainting
- small rust in door sills as all of them have for this year
- paint chips in front bumper, side skirts
- driver’s wing and bonnet were repainted, but at some angles you can almost see a colour difference – it comes through a LOT in some of the photos, but MUCH harder to spot in-person for some reason. It’s so subtle it never bothered me.
- I painted the spats/mudflaps and rear lower lip using proper car paint, but I’m no expert, and it would look better if they were done professionally
- some scraping around the rim of one wheel (only the outer edge, not the spokes, all other perfect)
- driver’s bolster showing some wear
- wiring for rear fog light could be hidden a bit better – I just tucked it under coverings for MOT
- not much service history, as I’ve done most of it myself or with uklegacy.com guys, but as I’m so anal about this sort of thing you can be confident it has all been done properly., going above and beyond standards in all cases
- air-con could use a re-charge, but it does blow cold
- interior ceiling lamp needs a new bulb
- the keys are funny: I have 2 Subaru keys. One of them starts the car and unlocks the boot, the other one unlocks the driver’s door (and subsequently, central locking), but it works.
