The Vegan/ Animal Rights Book Swap benefiting Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary returns Sat. Dec. 10th, 2-5pm! This time it will be in Crown Heights, Brooklyn at the local non-profit hub of creativity and good-times, LaunchPad. Start weeding your bookcase to make room for some fabulous finds. Hello awesomeness!
Calling all veggies and friends of animals with dusty, crowded book shelves! Please join us for an afternoon swap of inspiring vegan cookbooks, theory books, how-to dvds, and all other media related to vegetarianism and animal rights. This event is open to all whether you are a hardcore vegan with a dozen books (and tattoos) or a veg-curious passerby.
There will be a raffle in support of Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary. There will also be the opportunity to purchase used books for a $2 donation to the sanctuary.
Please bring no more than 5 items to swap.
This is the 2nd Vegan/AR Book Swap. Around 20 people showed up for the first one back in August. We raised $124 for the sanctuary (with the help of a matching donation). We’re hoping having it on the weekend and in a different borough will offer an exciting change for returning guests and encourage a whole new crop of folks who love both books and Brooklyn to show up.
