Lovely and large, this painting is a wonderful example of the popular European street scene art of the mid 20th century. Many of these paintings were purchased in Europe from painters who sold them to tourists. It is painted on stretched canvas in impasto, in the impressionistic style and really invokes the feel of a stormy afternoon of window shopping perhaps in Rome or Florence.It is signed by “Rida” and is in very good vintage condition. The canvas would benefit from re-stretching but it really is in fine , hanging condition.
