Kali is the Hindu goddess of Destruction, time and change. Her name literally translates into several words, one of which is black. She is described as having black skin, however she is most often represented as having blue or teal skin, similar to bead color of these earrings. She is foremost of the Dasha-Mahavidya (ten firece Tantric goddesses who represent the spectrum of feminine divinity), the other nine goddesses travel with Kali in these earrings represented as a row of nine red beads.
